14725161_sWE VALUE OUR VOLUNTEERS

The work of the Autism Society Inland Empire has been done by volunteers since we started – 30 years ago. We couldn’t accomplish this important work without our valuable volunteers. From assisting at special events, to coordinating programs, to updating our resources, we rely on volunteers each year to achieve our mission.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN and ADULTS with AUTISM

Volunteers who work directly with our population and not in the company of a board member will be evaluated by background screening.

Whether you have a few hours once a year, once a month, or once a week – we have volunteer opportunities for you!  Check out the opportunities below, and complete the online Volunteer Application.  Our Volunteer Coordinator will get back with you shortly.

Volunteer Opportunties

Autism Walk Planning Committee

Our largest event of the year.  Committee meets at least once a month in Corona in the evening to decide theme, obtain sponsors, vendors, and all the details of the upcoming walk!

Holiday Party - Day of Event

Help with the event – registration, set up, crafts, food, facilitating play.

Autism Walk - Day of the Event

We always have lots to do on the day of the event.  We need help with registration, set up, logistics, event booths, to name a few.  Approximately 6 hours.

Sky High Night

Volunteers are needed once a month from 6:30-8:30 to help supervise children at Sky High Sports in Mira Loma.  Must love children and be willing to be on trampolines.

Fundraising

Spend a few hours a month contacting untapped supporters, inspiring and educating them to the needs of the Autism Society Inland Empire as well as providing new insights to current fundraisers.

Social Club Facilitators

There is a huge need for facilitators to assist in the development of classes and monthly events for teens and adults with autism.  Events may include Movie Club and Walking Club.  Classes may include those on Self Advocacy and Relationships.

Holiday Party Planning Committee

Committee meets once a month starting in Aug – Nov to develop theme, ideas for Annual ASIE Holiday Party.

Updating Resource Guide

ASIE currently has over 700 resources which are constantly changing.  We are looking for inidviduals who can make phone calls, research on the internet and update the computer database.
