This is an introductory series intended for adults with mild autism. The informational series, “The World of Dating and Intimate Relationships” will begin Thurs, July 24, 2014 from 6-7pm in Corona. Classes will be held every Thursday for 9 weeks at this time and location.
This series of classes are designed to allow participants to explore their attitudes and values regarding healthy sexual relationship development. Participants of the series will be introduced to important concepts such as the link between dating and friendships, social communication skills involved in dating, abusive and illegal behaviors and factors to consider when using social media.
Class is taught by an Education Specialist. Cost of the class is $5 per class – $45 total. Scholarships are available. Class size is limited. No parents are allowed. Please register only if you can make all 9 classes. Register here
ASIE has partnered once again with StarF.I.S.H. Adapted Swim Lessons at the Cove Waterpark in Riverside to offer scholarships for swim classes. The StarFISH program offers individualized instruction to develop water safety, swimming, and social skills in a safe environment with trained instructors.
Class times are flexible. Sessions start June 7th – 2 week M- Th or Saturday sessions available. Price vary depending on if individualized or group lessons needed, and if weekday or Saturday classes are taken. Our sincerest thanks to A-Tech Consulting in Orange County for their generous donation of $1500. Fri, Aug 22- Sun, Aug 24th. Games, hay rides, horseshoes, campfires, swimming and s’mores! Fishing is available for a small fee. Don’t forget your tent, camping gear, swimsuit, drinks and snacks to share with the group. Meals will be provided.
Admission is $7 per person per night. You can pay the front desk as you arrive.
***FULL***Autism Day at the Cove is back and this year we will have the entire park to ourselves! Admission is $5 per person (children 3 and under are free). You may order a pre-paid lunch for another $5 per person (cheeseburger, hot dog or chicken nuggets meals) or the snack bar will be open and you can purchase food on your own. Sorry, no outside food can be brought in. $10 for lunch and admission is a – $15 pp savings!!!
